Travel & Tips

Flights

Due to the current disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, flight prices are tracking higher than usual on some routes. While we are not sure how things will develop, we are hopeful that fares will return to more normal levels in the coming weeks. If possible, booking a refundable flight may be a good option for added flexibility.

Getting Around

Taxis from the Airport
Taxis from both CDG and Orly offer flat rates to central Paris. To the Right Bank (where The Hoxton is located), the fare is €56 from CDG and €45 from Orly. Be sure to take only official taxis, which are located at the terminal taxi stands and marked by an illuminated “TAXI” sign.
Uber
Uber is widely available throughout Paris and is an easy option for getting around.
Metro
The Metro is another great way to travel around the city. You can purchase tickets at the stations or buy a Navigo pass through the Île-de-France Mobilités app.

Our Favorites

Go-To Boulangerie
BO&MIE is of our favorite go-to bakeries in the city and a reliable stop for something sweet. Kris loves the raspberry croissant, while Philipp always chooses the classic pain au chocolat.
Best Ice Cream
Berthillon, at 31 Rue Saint-Louis en l’Île, is our favorite spot for ice cream in Paris and an ideal place to cool off in the summer.
Best Shopping
Galeries Lafayette is our favorite department store for shopping and one of the most beautiful in the city. Printemps is just nearby, and both stores have lovely rooftop terraces with sweeping views.
Favorite Neighborhoods
Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Le Marais are two neighborhoods we especially love. We spent many weekends strolling through both and discovering new corners each time.
