Our Story

How We Met

Philipp was sent to New York City on a summer rotation from his job while still living in Paris—and as fate would have it, that’s when he and Kristen met on a dating app. What began as a chance meeting quickly turned into something much more, and with only a few short weeks together before Philipp was due to return to Paris, they made every moment count.
Before heading back to Paris, Philipp set off on a 14-day road trip through the West Coast’s national parks. Each day, without fail, he sent Kristen a postcard—a small but meaningful gesture that spoke volumes, and the moment she knew he was truly special.
What followed was two and a half years of long distance between Paris and Jersey City, filled with constant flights, time zones, and the kind of commitment that only grew stronger with time. In the end, love brought them to the same place—Philipp moved to the U.S., and the rest is history.

The Proposal

Philipp told Kristen he had planned a special Valentine’s Day dinner in Paris—but just an hour before they were meant to leave their apartment, he added one more detail: she needed to pack an overnight bag. Curious and excited, Kristen followed his lead.
After arriving at the hotel, they shared a glass of champagne at the bar before Philipp mentioned he had one more surprise waiting upstairs. As he opened the door to their room, Kristen heard their special song playing and saw a beautiful bouquet of roses on the bed. He then led her out to the balcony, where the Eiffel Tower stood glowing in the distance.
Having timed and executed every detail down to the minute, Philipp led Kristen outside just as the clock struck 7 and the tower began to sparkle. In that perfect moment, he got down on one knee and asked Kristen to marry him.
